Edmonton Council 248 Event

On the first Sunday of every month Edmonton and District Council 248 run a coffee morning to raise funds for the National Action Project and each year we hand over in excess of £2500. Our Coffee morning in October coincides with Macmillan Cancer Support's World Biggest Coffee Morning and for just this month the money goes there. Brothers, their wives and parishioners from St Edmund's in Edmonton North London are asked to bake and bring cakes for us to sell after all four Sunday morning masses. This year we raised £488.80 and with a subsequent donation by one of our members, the total increased to £500.

Pictured are "Star Baker" Carol Porter wife of IPGK Paul Porter and waiting in anticipation for the rush are Brs Cyriac Maliakan, Peter King and Joe Wheatcroft. Main organiser Br Paul Porter said "We all have or know someone with cancer and doing something as simple as this is very rewarding for the soul".

  Ongoing Projects

MISSIO: The Provincial Council is taking part in National Action Project of the KSC, raising money in support of Missio. Missio would over the next 3 years be supported through various initiatives of every local KSC Council.

Since 1922, Missio has been the Catholic Church's official charity for overseas mission. We bring the hope of the Gospel where there is turmoil, poverty and uncertainty in the world, and where the Church is new, young or poor. Missio empowers local people to form and sustain communities of faith and we train and nurture future leaders so that the vital work of the Church in the world can take place.
